Google Arts & Culture, which gathers collections of cultural institutions from around the world, began to count on Thursday (13) with a 360º virtual tour through rooms of the National Historical Museum and exhibition of historical pieces of the institution. With the tour, it is possible to recall the palace before the September fire, when 92% of the collection was damaged by fire.

The reconstruction was done with images captured in 2017, in a Google project in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and the Ministry of Education (MEC). The online platform contains nine museum exhibits and a 360-degree tour of some of the palace's rooms - including the one that housed the skull of Luzia, the oldest woman in the Americas, and the Bendego meteorite. Here's how to do the virtual tour of the place with Google Arts & Culture.
