How to cut and edit audio online without installing anything

Audio Cutter is an extension for Google Chrome that allows you to cut songs and other audio files online. Without having to install anything else besides the plugin, the user can import a song from the computer or the Internet through link or cloud storage services to edit in the browser.

The tool is simple, with start and end control of the cut, plus fade application to smooth the input and output. However, basic functions can help when there is no editing app available on the machine. Here's how to use Audio Cutter to cut out snippets of sounds on your PC.

Step 1. Access the Audio Cutter's Downloads page and press the "download" button;

Step 2. On the Chrome Web Store page, press "add to Chrome" and confirm the action in the dialog box that opens;

Step 3. Once the plugin is installed, Chrome will show a shortcut to access the service on the browser screen. Press the icon to open;

Step 4. Audio Cutter still uses flash, technology locked in newer versions of Chrome. If this occurs, access the banner and release the flash for temporary use;

Step 5. Press the highlighted button and select the audio file you want to edit on your computer;

Step 6. After a few seconds, the Audio Cutter will display a cutting tool. Align the starting point with the mouse. Activate the "Fade in" option to soften the input of the song;

Step 7. In the same way, move the ruler to set the end point of the audio and activate the "Fade out" to mute the sound bit by bit;

Step 8. At the bottom, select the audio format for export. By default, Audio Cutter generates an MP3 file, but you can select other types from the "More" menu. Finally, press the "Cut" button;
